Note: Each scotch listed here has been recommended by one or more publication. The letter in parentheses after some of the names indicates whether it is a light (L), medium (M), or full (F) bodied scotch.  Those followed by an asterisk (*) have been highly recommended by one or more source. Unfortunately, many of those are quite expensive. There are many other good scotches that are not on this list, however.

In deciding what to bring to a scotch tasting, it is best to try to ensure that most of the regions are represented, and that there are a variety of light, medium and full bodied scotches.
