Butter Toffee Candy

1 cup sliced almonds
2 sticks butter (do not use margarine - it gets oily)
1 cup sugar
8 oz. Hershey's milk chocolate candy bar (they only come in 7 oz. bars now so I buy two)
cup chopped nuts

Melt butter over low to medium heat with the almonds. Add the sugar and turn heat on high. Cook to hard crack stage. Stir occasionally. (I simply stir until it gets brown and clumps up and doesn't seem to be getting firmer.) Spread quickly into a 13" pan that has been oiled (I use PAM spray) Spread the broken chocolate over the base and keep spreading until it fully melts. Spread the nuts over the chocolate.

After it cools refrigerate it overnight
